financial advisor?

#1
Hi,

Im 24 years old and I have to manage a lot of funds. I do not know much about mutual funds.....and if i try to research about them...i would be spending a lot of time....which I dont want to.

I am doing my post-graduation and I am very serious about my profession (Computer) and so, I dont have time to monitor fund rates and company profits/losses and all that.

So, do you think it would be good for me to get a financial advisor? If so, can you suugest some good financial advisors in Mumbai/India and tell me approximately how much they charge.

Also please tell me what financial advisors exactly do. Do I have to scchedule appointments with them every month? Or..will they call me up whenever any great event happens, and tell me to buy/sell etc etc.....Will they contact me...or do i have to keep visiting them?

Thanks,

If you don't have the time to manage your money, you're better off in a FD.
Mutuals are as good/bad as the stockmarket, when the market crashes so do all the funds.

A good fund manager won't come cheap, if you do manage to find one.
I'm looking for one to manage an account for an old friend, in case you find anyone please share the info here or by PM.
There are some good funds abroad in case you can send money there.

There are some excellent funds out there, a couple of guys in London did 1000%+ for the year. We never get to hear about these things since these funds are not allowed to advertise and cater to very exclusive clients.

I have heard a lot about hiring personal financial advisor for personal investment. I am thinking of investing some of my amount in mutual fund and foreign stocks but have only a little information about it. So, any guidance which bonds are running lately in the market in good position.
