Hi,

I was looking for one and the one that I happened to get in touch was nothing but money grabber. What the advisor did was maximise his commissions and made me invest in glut of NFO which today are doing pretty poorly.

My advise is to follow your own nose.

Only if I had found this forum earlier, i would not have used the service of an agent.

lol d2thdr looks like you landed with a mutual fund agent not a advisor.
Any good planner should atleast give the following advice

1. Dont invest in NFO
2. ULIPS are bad for growth
3. Build up a portfolio of funds depending upon your needs and risk

You are spot on Anurag. However, tell me one thing, a fee based financial advisor is preferrable to a commission based one, however they are few and far between. If you find one, please let me know too.

d2hdr.. agree with u.
I haven't met a sales person.. who will tell me.. that please don't buy product. and buy my competitors product..
Or someone who can accept that he could be wrong in advising you.

They are trained in certain way.. and thats what they practice. It is upto us to
have the smartness and screen their advise.

Happy Trading.
