Hi,

Greetings! I am new to this forum and would like to know if investing in UTI Infrastructure Fund (G) is a good start? I am planning on having a SIP with UTI.

Could someone please advise if its a good fund to start my investment now as the market is so volatile ?

Thanks in advance,

It has a good long term track record. But as a fund house, UTI has not been all that great. So if you have already invested in this fund, remain invested in it. But if you are starting a fresh investment then you could consider funds like DSP ML tiger fund.

To your second question, an infrastructure fund is not a mandatory fund that has to be present in your portfolio. Other large cap funds and plain vanilla equity funds should form the core of your portfolio. Having the infrastrucure fund as the third or fourth fund in your portfolio is good to add aggression to your portfolio.

Hi Vicky,

Thanks for your reply.

Do you suggest any funds for retirees? My father is retiring in 3 months and we are considering investing some money on some mutual funds which gives decent returns. If you suggest any, please let me know.

Thanks in advance,
Freeman
