Objective of both the funds is different...if u want to save tax u/s 80 C invest in tax advantage fund which is a 10 year close ended fund with 3 year lock in with investment in divesrsified equity tilting towards midcap.....Relinance natural resources fund is a open ended fund with investment in natural resources like oil gas metals etc....if u r investing in reliance natural resources ...invest dierctly to save entry load....for tax advantage fund there is no entry load but initial issue expenses that will be amortised over the period of the scheme

Actually these cant be compared coz both belong to different class; one is ELSS & other is Equity Diversified Fund. O'wise, both are NFOs & you are never advised to invest in NFO.

Hi Tuxian!
No doubt, tax-saving MFs usually perform better than bank FDs & NSCs. But you should be prepared to take "risk". You may invest 30 splitted into Birla Sun Life Tax Relief96 & Principal Tax Savings. |

The two given products are not comparable; SBI Tax ADvantage has a completely different objective and the portfolio structure therein would be non Theumatic and highly diversified in nature. BAsed on its min lock-in of 3 yrs and total life of 10 years, it will be low Beta fund with moderate risk- medium retrun profile.
However, Reliance Natural Resource is an Open Ended Theumatic Fund, which will be growth oriented moderate Risk- High Return Fund. If you are looking to invest purely for Returns, choose Reliance Natural Resources....In any case Natural energy/Resources story is the hottest in the Country! |

Do I know you ..?? Hint Digit ..?
Btw .. I am having some investment in SBI Magnum Taxgain .. Its a very good fund with very nice returns ... Reliance Natura fund is a new fund .. Ideally you shouldnt put your money in a new fund because you have no idea how its going to perform .. For tax advantages, I'll suggest you SBI Magnum Taxgain or Principal PNB Personal Tax Saver .. |

Yes,
These Two are completely Different Funds. SBI Magnum has already got an Established Fund Like tax gain scheme 93 which is doin great in ELSS Domain.I feel it is better to Stick to that. Whereas Rel Natural Resources is a Thematic Fund, first of it's kind from Reliance. It should be a Good Bet and I'm Goin for it! |
