My Fund View:
Reliance is a good and trusted AMC and most of their funds are performing good. so if they are launching a NFO we can rely that it would be assigned to good fund manager with good prospects. Also Reliance has good experience in this sector. Key is how the sectors perform in next 5-10 years

Sector View :
A lot of analyst are bullish on this sector. As a developing India rather Asia their is huge demand of energy at present I don't find the companies in this sector realy to the maturity levels what other developed contries have. I am in energy sector working for a huge Oil company in gulf and been listening some rumers or news suggesting possible JVs and investments in Indian companies. So their is no harm in assuming that the sector would definately benifit. We need to watch it more closely as a lot of future would depend on what happens in 2008 and some key regulations.

I would definately wanna give some expossure and buy Oil and gas bussiness. I would go ahead and buy it as din't find any exisitng similar scheme yet. Please let me knowif their are similar ongoing funds.

Is it then something different from "Reliance Diversified Power Fund"; which had given more than 100% returns in 2007.

Comments/Feed back from mutual fund masters are welcome

Default Re: Reliance Natural Resources Fund

According to me there is some difference I found that Reliance diversified Power Fund is Equity MISC category and invests into power and other associated companies. As far as Reliance Natural Resources funds would focus more towards the Energy Resource companies or who are involved in producing or supplying natural resources for Power generation or other domestic fuel needs

And Coal, Oil, Gas, Nuclear are the known sources but what i feel is Gas is already identified more environment friendly fuel for the future and huge investments started coming into this bussines you can realise this how market is on raly for these stocks like RNRL,RPL..

I am holding direct equity in RNRL, RPL & Petronet LNG and bullish for them

I have 50 K but bit confuse should i buy the Fund or direct Equity of these companies?

Wink Re: Relince natural resource fund

Reliance Diversified Power sector fund has given excellent returns in the last few years. It shall continue to perform in another 2 - 3 years.
You shall invest and keep closely watching it since it can be too volatile.

You may try UTI Energy also.

Thumbs up Re: Relince natural resource fund

You can try splitting up your investment into the following funds....

(1) HDFC Top 200 ... 20K
(1) Reliance Growth ... 20K
(2) DSP ML TIGER ... 10K
(4) Reliance Diversified Power ... 10K

Happy investing
