Very profitable. Dont expect to make a profit overnight
, but yes u can well make a decent enuf profit within a year. If u spread ur funds across a couple of sectors, it is even better, as one's loss (which is a bit rare) wud offset the other. I forgot to notice the date of ur post; but u have already missed out on the franklin IPO. At the moment, only PNB, Reliance, LIC and Tata are on the anvil. All of these are ok, but none of them r great. At the moment, it is best to go at IPOs, as the NAVs of MFs are at a high. Of course, they r unlikely to dip, but one wud be able to make a better profit by going in for equity based MFs.Cheers! |

What are the upcoming MF IPO's in the market and, if there are any, what is the ranking that anyone can give for those upcoming ones?
Also, is it wise to invest in a MF when we are still witnessing a bull run albeit with a correction. |

I agree, but one must look for Fund - Manager carefully and on the MF scheme. For example, ICICI has variety of funds and some of them perform very good which few of them do not because of certain kind of diversification in funds there...

Hi,
Well i am posting this quite a bit late (coz just made my debut in this forum today ) but seeing the past couple of months, the Mutual fund IPOs are not performing as good as some of the existing funds. but then there are exceptions too.. like Fidelity, Tata Midcap etc which has done really well. But instead of going for only IPOs, you can as well see the performance of the existing funds and then take a decision. Also, 1 point worth mentioning, is Mutual fund TaxSavers are doing really well like SBI Magnum Tax Gain , HDFC Tax Saver, HDFC LongTerm Advantage. Also the launch of Reliance ELSS scheme has received real good response ( The IPO is closing on 23rd Aug). Hope this info is useful. HTH, Shankar.
