It all depends on the individual's own selection criteria .

On the recent NFO's from Fund houses, the performence is quite good from leading fund houses. Even u r void of the entry/exit load. So before selecting a NFO check the Fund managers past record.

Even entering the existing MF with good track record through SIP is a good option.
Right now Reliance ELSS is a good bet.

I have invested in ABN Amro because the earlier funds gave good returns (Tax Saving - pretty good, Dividend yield - moderately good when compared to others). They are aggressive fund house, and I've been given a positive view.

Franklin, I've stayed away because there is an entry load and now they are not as good as they once were.

In what angle should I analyse if I want to invest in NFO or an existing fund.

Eg. Now i'm confused to invest in the current NFO, Fidelity Special Situation fund, franklin new fund.

Do we have some technical analysis standards for MF apart from analysing the portfolio, returns of the fund if existing, sector wise distribution.

The returns from M.F depends on various aspects like the company, the fund managers, their portfolio, their strategies, etc.
We do not know the NFOs can perform like the existing one.
Also the existing cannot repeat their earlier performance.
So diversify your investment into various funds. Also invest regularly (S.I.P)

Regarding your query on NFO of Fidelity Special Situations...I attended their presentation.. and it seemed quite impressive.
However my consultant recommends "No Buy" for an NFO for two reasons :

1. entering a new fund is always more expensive because of entry loads and other costs which are loaded on at the time of offer
2. an old fund is already tried and tested for its returns and can be safley bought.

regards

Default Higher Nav ...

Hi Friends..

I wish to invest in Reliance Growth & Reliance Vision Mutual Fund which have performed quite well .
The Nav is quite high for both the funds.
But I understand that it is better to buy a performing fund rather than investing in a new fund .
Is it advisable to invest in a fund with higher Nav in the growth option if the performance is good?
Thanking You.

Hello Deepak ji..

I personally done feel so..I f u ll study new MFs carefully that where AMCs investing the fund ie in which sector and coorporates than u can invest in new one also. By doing that ull get more no. of units with same amount which u wanted to invest in higher navs mfs. Hence if u have more units than u ll have more profit..
