hai ..
i am planning to invest in Magnum taxgain and hdfc tax saver via SIP mode for year 2007.(both of them are ELSS only)
Can anybody tell are they best or not..

if not plz suggest any other ELSS schemes...

You can go ahead and put your money in these funds. They are in fact the best tax saving funds available. Of these magnum happens to be my own favorite, it was clocking a NAV of 58.25 on 12 Feb 07

Magnum is good one.. they give dividends and also rise fast back.

HDFC is also good. So is ICICI Pru.

Yes they are very good funds and Magnum has declared a dividend of 110% with record date of 2nd March.

Does anyone have information on Kotak's Tax save fund?

Also, Is it true that ELSS are not good for SIP as the lock in period increases from general 3 years?

consider the "dividend re-investment" option in ELSS MF's.
The reinvested amount too is eligible for tax deduction
