Want to consolidate Mutual fund portfolio

Holding following mutual funds. please advise me, should I consolidate them in smaller number or they ok. please comment MF wise-
1. Axis long term eq.fund ( For Tax saving ).
2. Birla Frontline equity fund.
3. ICICI Focused Blue Chip fund
4. HDFC Mid Cap Oppr. Fund.
5. Franklin Templeton Smaller Companies fund
6. DSP BR Microcap fund.
All are equity funds.[/B]

Go to moneycontrol and search for each mutual fund.

And then see for the sector allocation.And the shares in those section they are holding.

Try to diversify this...and drill down to 1 fund which are in same sector.

SBI Blue Chip

Sector %age

Banking/Finance 21.59
Pharmaceuticals 11.11
Automotive 9.44
Technology 8.28
Oil & Gas 6.73
Engineering 5.53


SBI Magnum Midcap Fund (G)

Sector %age

Pharmaceuticals 15.70
Engineering 14.06
Banking/Finance 13.27
Chemicals 8.53
Cement 6.95

Yes, I think you should consolidate.

Axis long term eq.fund ( For Tax saving ): You can keep this one for tax saving


All the remaining ones you can replace with one good multi-cap fund.

2. Birla Frontline equity fund.
3. ICICI Focused Blue Chip fund
4. HDFC Mid Cap Oppr. Fund.
5. Franklin Templeton Smaller Companies fund
6. DSP BR Microcap fund.
