There is no correct answer to your question (Investments are subjected to market risk). Depends on which way market heads after you make those investments.
If you have only 20k to invest, it is advisable to park the money in a liquid fund and thereafter transfer the money to equity fund of your choice in the same fund house via STP systematic transfer plan over a period of time (lets say 4-6 months)
