Planning to buy the software, need your help

I am planning to buy a subscription to Metastock.

I have the following questions:

Is this data available:
1- MCX Intraday - 5 minute intervals - starting from 2012, if available.

2- NSE - Currency Futures intraday, 5 minute intervals - Starting from 2012, if available.

After getting the data:

3- Will the data be exportable to csv files?

4- Can we plot a chart with different asset classes for comparison?

5- Can the data be optiomised according to specification? I mean can we change the time settings on International quotes to fit in on a chart of local quotes?

You must be aware that you need to pay for Metastock software one time - approx. cost 25K, and data charges additionally. The EOD data will cost more than 10K each year. You need to check if MCX and currency data is covered in this or you need to pay extra.

MCX data is generally updated every 60 minutes and not 5 minutes. For 5 minutes or live updates, you will need to pay more.

From my experience :

1. Data cannot be exported to CSV file.
2. You cannot compare charts.
3. Generally, you cannot tinker with Metastock data.

Better if you call Viratech who are the agents for Metastock and clear your doubts. Tel. 91 22 40233336

However if 5M data in CSV file is important to you, most trading platforms provide this tick data which can be exported to Excel. And its free.

If anyone can help to get the data directly into Excel from IIFL TraderTerminal.
I tried the "Export to excel button", lists the symbols etc in Excel but the LTP etc fields remain: NA

Please help me out.

Just tried on TraderTerminal, seems I can export the file with a few clicks. Now need to automate the process to be done every 5 minutes as per stipulated TF.

Any ideas on it?

Adjust your chart settings to 5M, that should do the trick I guess.

This is from TJ thread. Check it out :

Download trial version of Amibroker, then download Stock Live datafeeder.
this way you can have your EOD, IEOD, LIve index streaming and 5 min delay stock streaming. directly into amibroker.

-Then you can save it to excel if you want.. but ami is 1000% better and useful.

You may take trails of RTDS DATA PROVIDER...

They will provide you Metastock and amibroker both.

Same data will work in both..at same time.

Just 500 rs per month...

Why investing... 25k for Licence version for metastock...

Metastock didn't really work for what I have in mind. Have juncked the idea.

I am in touch with Interactive data, working with them to find out the benefits of esignal.

The biggest one I have found so far is I can trade from their terminal on all exchanges.

Data is exportable and the time gets synced automatically. The export further allows me to add formulas on the same sheet and is dynamic.

Looks like a winner.

Any insights into their software/trading through their client would be great.
