There was some problem with settings in some other software to correct which, I restored windows to earlier saved point (just to a previous working day). After that, all other softwares including Metastock are working ok except whenever I right click on any chart, Metastock gives error as shown in the enclosed picture. If I select some candlestick pattern or MA in the chart and right-click, it does not give any error (another picture is enclosed). This is something funny but now, I cannot use the context menu by right-clicking.

I have MetaStock Professional ver.7.2.

Any solution ?

From Second post:-It was running fine till a week back and after using restore facility to remove ill-effects of some other software (and deleting some registry entries manually), this funny problems started.

Hi aad

Try to repair Metastock by running the installer CD again and choosing repair option . It will restore the settings .Otherwise you have to do full install.

When you are doing system restore , never touch the registry. Want to cleanup otherwise, use regcleaner utility to do that.

Moral of the story is that never twick the registry manually unless you know what you are doing and that is unlikely in 90% of cases even with Microsoft people:D

Thanks Pankaj... I agree with you... I have actually taken bakup of registry before making changes but loading it again will be a risk... repairing / re-installing Metastock again will be simpler... u never know where you will land with Microsoft... By the way, I remembered a joke, cannot resist penning it down here.

Once a German, a Japanese and a Microsoft engineers were travelling in a car which suddenly stopped. The German said "Let me check the engine. You know, we are the brains behind best engines in the world. So I will surely fix the problem". The Japanese said "I will check its electronic fuel ignition system. I can surely find out if there is a problem with that". Now it was the turn of Microsoft engineer. He said "I know the way out. It has worked most of the times with us. Lets open the car-doors, get out of the car, again get in and close the doors. The car has to start".... :D :D

Abhay,
Export all ur indicators & formulas to a new folder at the drive which does not have Meatstock, through the organizer, situated at right of indicator builder/Exploration combo box.Only after that u uninstall otherwise all ur collection will be lost.
