As a workaround to this issue, you can use Point and Figure chart. MS has the facility to draw a scrip price in P&F format.

Below is the definition of P&F taken from investopedia (excuse me if you are already aware of this)
=========
"Point and figure charts are composed of a number of columns that either consist of a series of stacked Xs or Os. A column of Xs is used to illustrate a rising price, while Os represent a falling price. As you can see from the chart below, this type of chart is used to filter out non-significant price movements, and enables the trader to easily determine critical support and resistance levels. Traders will place orders when the price moves beyond identified support/resistance levels.

Investopedia Says... Additional points are added to the chart once the price changes by more than a predefined amount (known as the box size). For example, if the box size is set to equal one and the price of the asset is $15, then another X will be added to the stack of Xs once the price surpasses $16. Each column consists of only one letter (either X or O) - never both. New columns are placed to the right of the previous column and are only added once the price changes direction by more than a predefined reversal amount."
========
It is possible to mention in MS Parameters to start new column whenever price change by x%.

I was amazed by simplicity of P&F chart and ease of identification of trading signals.
I use this in finding the signals.
Hope this helps. I will be happy to share my experience /knowledge on this.

Happy Trading

Yes it does ,..

Make sure ur database consists Open interest data.

If it does then simply drag and drop OI indicator into the volume pane ,..

It should work for u.

And if ur putting any formulle then the syntex is OI , there is nothing else u shd add.

Ask if u have further queries.
Regards,..

Hello all
i am working on trends,
A trend is up if its ema of current period is greater then the ema of the last period and vice versa.

Now suppose i have defined Bull:=(MOV(C,3,E);

now what i want is that it calculates the previous period value of the bull and and if the privious period value is less then the current period value then the trend is up and vice versa.

i cannot find any function to calculate the previous bar value

What i want is to work with loop or if there is any other way pls guide me.
thanks in advance
