Folks,

An updated version of MetaStock compatible "NSE & BSE EOD Data downloader" available now in this thread.

It now offers to download Futures EOD data.

Thanks!

While downloading, I find technical error -

"
Exception occured while downloading nifty & nifty jr. symbols
Exception Message: The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required."

From where to change the proxy settings.......

Never thought about Proxy users. Attached find a version that should work under proxy. You'll see a config file where you can mention your proxy details.

Thanks!

Thanx Xtalk ,..

Problem occurs in downloading Historical data, in case of holidays it crashes , rather then bypassing it .

Any solution ?

Darsh,

For holidays it should generate 404 message, e.g. 15AUG2008.txt : The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. Weekends are ignored.

Thanks!

EDIT: I see what you are saying...it has problem when I download say, 14-15-16Aug where 15th is the holiday. Will fix that ASAP.

I have downloaded nifty futures data between 2000 and 2008.

You'll face problem in Futures server, as that one prone to 404 error. Use smaller date ranges, say week by week or month by month. Dates need to be mentioned in US format (mm/dd/yyyy). Also remember NSE don't keep stock records with split/bonus adjusted. So, once you download stocks you need readjust it.

Btw. in data feed thread somebody has uploaded MS dump till Aug'08.
