Hello Everyone--
This is my first post and might seem like a very naive question but I would really appreciate any feedback from everyone's experience. I've traded 4x before with some better than average success. My pitfalls were related to the stops (not having a more sophisticated method of placing them strategically) and not taking profits soon enough (might be based on emotion or getting greedy). I saw the ad for Metastock on TV and thought I'd order the promo CD to see what it might offer to better my averages with the 4X markets. I was actually overwhelmed with the enoormous amount of info. Here comes my naive question: When I saw the MACD Expert Advisor buy/sell signs on any given pair of currencies I thought, "There has to be more than this to be successful?" The technical analysis options Metastock has available is huge however I'm too simplistic with attention deficit to evaluate all of them. Has anyone simply used the MACD stategy to determine the buys and sells with success? Of course the promo CD is a marketing strategy but if the info is accurate it appears you could have some great success if following this MACD religiously. Thanks a bunch for any education you can share--Jim |

If you are interested to trade with simplicity with the help of MACD, you can follow the SWINGS generated by the "Histogram" in first place. I have developed a Table myself with formula for MACD and HISTOGRAM from www.investopedia.com and Inter-day prices from www.nseindia.com. The 12-Day EMA and 26-Day EMA will be correct one. A lower date EMA will give you erratic and falls signal. I have avoided a clumpsy and more elaborate programme like Metastock. Afterall my brain has to consume all the information and then make a reasonable decision. To avoid confusion you try yourself to develop the above MACD and HISTOGRAM and be assured, you are doing well.
