Default Gold bullion - How can a retail investor sell?

This is something that frustrates me. I hold some gold bars, purchased in the Gulf years ago. Surpringly, no jeweller is interested in buying any, though they are all certified 995 ten tola bars, and 999 (Swiss) 100 gm gold bars. The jewellers say they get their gold from "old gold" customers sell them so presumably they can make a higher profit.

But there should be some place pure gold bullion can be purchased and sold. I am in Cochin, Kerala. Is there any bullion dealers in Cochin? Or Chennai? Or Bangalore? Or Bombay?

I think a lot of people will benefit from an honest discussion on this matter--How a retail investor can sell his gold bullion without getting ripped off.

dear sgrmonas, thanks for the offer, but I am interested in knowing what are the authorized outlets for selling gold in Mumbai, where I can sell gold as per the day's bullion rates. I request you to give your info on the forum so that everyone can benefit.

Amazing!! This is the premier forum for traders in gold, but no one knows or cares how or where investors can sell gold at market price. I am constantly frustrated by jewellers who try to arm twist me to sell my gold at a substantial discount to the market price.

So here's the warning to small investors in gold bullion. There is only entry, no decent exit.
