Are the shares held in a single name of your father or in joint names with some other member of the family ? If so the procedure is relatively simple.

If the shares are held in single name, then you will have to obtain a probate/succession certificate from the civil court naming successor/s to your father's estate/wealth. The shares can be then transferred to the successor. It is a lengthy process requiring 5-6 months and some court expenses.
