I have shares of a company called Datar Switch Gear in physical form. This company got amalgamated with L&T in 2005 (not sure about the year). On the web I see that there are statements from L&T to the effect Data share holders getting a fair deal etc. There is also mention of a stock swap ration. But I have not been able to find any news item of the exact share swap ratio.
I wrote to the registrar and they forwarded the email to L&T. An official of L&T responded saying that only the electrical division was taken over and that I must check with Datar about the fate of my shares. However I see from various articles that whole of Datar was acquired.
Can anyone throw more light on this?
Has anyone in this forum owned shares of Data switchgear?
Is there any way that I can find out because Datar does not exist now and is not listed.
