When and how will i receive dividends?

#1
Hi,

I need to ask certain questions regarding dividends:-

1) Usually within how much time from ex-date do i receive the dividends?

2) Is that time calculated from ex-date or declaration date?

3) If I had a stock during ex-date but i sold it before receiving the dividend, will i receive it in future?

4) If the stock is in my demat account will it be credited to my bank account? If yes, will i get any communication of that?

5) In case i don't get the dividend, what steps should i take?

Hi,

About 90 days or so. It depends on the RTA used.
2) Is that time calculated from ex-date or declaration date?
Doesnt matter.
3) If I had a stock during ex-date but i sold it before receiving the dividend, will i receive it in future?
Yes.
4) If the stock is in my demat account will it be credited to my bank account? If yes, will i get any communication of that?
Only if you opted for ECS and the bank account given in the one linked with your demat account. Yes it will be communicated to you with a mail.
5) In case i don't get the dividend, what steps should i take?
It will come but after 2 months if no news then write to the registrar and transfer agent . Better to remain in contact with the RTA via email, this is efficient often there is delay or the mail may have got forwarded to your old address. It will then be sent to the new address as soon as you confirm it in writing.
