Ahmed,
You are spot on. Bear Sterns was partialy rescued today. By monday morning they will be sold to the highest bidder if not they will get margin calls. Stock holders may be looking down the barrel. Never in US history has a investment bank failed [since the great depression].

IT will take some time for the media to report the reality.. As far today the fundamentals are strong so they are reporting it.

We are talking about future. how it looks.. It looks good but with risk which we are facing today.. the figures are indicating that

The risk of having a 1-2 years bear phase is increasing day by day.. it will take some good time to keep the centiments up. For the experts the signals are enough to conclude that we will move to bear phase and it would be reflected on our stock market wich is again acts on over pessimism as it did with over optimism..

13 K looks reasonable but if we go below that it will confirm some fundametnal hits.. soon you will see the P/E would look different.

regards.

Investor are adviced not to buy smallcap and some of the midcap stock.
Its better to start buying defensive bluechip stocks like.
1. SAIL
2. NTPC
3. L&T around 2000-2300
4. RIL below 2000.
5. Cipla
6. TISCO below 600
7. punjloyed
8. suzlon

some defensive midcaps at current level are.
1. supreme ind.
2. hcc.
3. cairn india
5. yuken india
6. ramsarup ind.

where dwnside is very low.

I second the list of blue chip 1-6. Other two don't know much about. These stocks will add weight to one's portfolio and much needed stability if entered at this level. Can add more in the list.

How about Bindal agro, Chen Petro, IFCI, Guj Alkalies? All ruling a P/E less than 5 with chen petro posting 800% increase in December quarter. They seems to be good pick right now but it may be wise to go for front liners like Sail, L&T;make some money and then look them as second string runners(easy said than done). What do you say?
