What is Value Investing
Value Investing is process of selecting stocks that trade for less than their intrinsic value. A value investor typically selects stocks with lower than average price-to-book or price-to-earning ratios. Value investors actively seek stocks from companies with sound financial statements that they believe the market has undervalued. Quote:

As per my personal view, SAIL has got good potential for long term growth as this has a good product mix in sales point of view. We can accumulate this share in the price range of Rs.50 to 60.

I SAIL would qualify more as a cyclical than a value investing stock

I am reading "The Intelligent Investor" by "Benjamin Graham" whom Buffet considers as father of Value Investing.
Very easy reading and layman understable book,u have to read it if u consider urselves an "Investor" |

One of the fundamentals of Buffet's way is to look at the management. Unfortunately in India probably out of 4000 listed companies, one can proabaly find only around 5 or so company management whose integrity and commitment to shareholders are beyond doubt (NM of Infosys for one). Others are only part of the operator-management nexus.
Trading is best, trend following. (IMHO) regards masterjee |

Value investment
In shares market it is the industry which is at low ebb when has bottomed out and establised with perfect managment and product is the leader of that particular industry .They shares brokers play and the analyst knows its value and would be value and therafter intrinsic value. The values of family, indivuals group, community ,place, position ,state , nation and religion varies. HALF OF THE WORLD DOES NOT KNOW HOW THE OTHER HALF LIVES |
