Intraday - A beginners agony

#1
Hi,

I am new to online trading , doing intra-day(delivery) using Oddin Diet. Though it is very difficult, but I am having confidence one day I would master it. What bothers me is the terminology used in the trading. Back-office people throw all sort of jargon , if I ask what it is, they are unable to explain in simple terms.
Where I will get a hand book about doing intra-day in Indian stock exchanges?
Suppose if I find a term "auction" in my ledger What it means? What is the relation between 'auction' and 'Intra-day' etc. Right now , I am not using any popular software.First time I have seen one, it frightened me. So my husband developed a simple application for me to understand the price movement of a scrip. Now I am learning chart analysis real-time . It is interesting. So please throw me some light on nitty- gritty of Day trading :)

Hi Sudhina,
Auction - means when you opted for short selling a stock and unable to square off the position within cut off time...those shares will be bought back in auction....auction takes place after market hours....In our country short selling ( means selling shares that you do not hold in your Demat account) is allowed , intraday only...that means you have to buy back the short sold shares before closing of the market. Other wise your broker has to buy back those shares in Auction. Usually prices will be higher in auction when compared to the normal session...penalties also will be levied so please square off the short sold positions in the normal market hours.....
"Trading is simple but not easy " quote i have read somewhere...Try to learn the basics and emotions play an important role in trading....To succeed in Day trading you should have an edge over others...Its hard to get that edge..But its possible to learn and get that edge....requires a great amount of hard work and persistence...if you can do that its the most rewarding proffession in the world...
All the best
