Personally I am a swing trader, I invest in what some call momentum stocks, they are stocks that are appreciating in value and usually quickly. My timeframe for holding a stock is....as long as it acts correctly. When a stock acts correctly it means it is being purchased by institutions and I want to move with institutions because they move the markets.

Overall I love markets and technical analysis, Dan Zanger, IBD and How to Make Money in stocks, The Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns and most books on Canslim and advanced methodology I will read. On top of that I use a lot of volume analyzing and price action to make decisions.
I use the 10, 50, 200 sma and some Fibonacci's but only as a secondary indicator. You can go nuts if you try to use too many indicators. Keep it simple and play with the winners!
