Ambitious and worried

:) I am new to this game. Age wise I am ancient but having been in a medical profession all my life I have had little exposure to the financial market. I am soon going to retire and have this yawning gap of leisure/ boredom ahead of me. I have opened an account with Sharekhan and have tentatively with the help of my broker ---INTRADAY TRADING. Have had bad luck so far - no gain and some losses, and have been advised by my broker to go in for intraday options. Can anybody simplify the concept of options for me ? Is this occupation in my retired life likely to be disastrous for me ?? Some opinions are welcome !!!

Just my view :

If you are trading to get rid of boredom, or to pass time, you can be assured that you need to take heed of your posted thread and be worried. Till the time you learn to trade with confidence and by yourself (ignore all gurus and experts) you should use caution and be defensive in any of your trading, as at a time you are retiring where you cannot afford to loose.

Good luck.

I am new to this game. Age wise I am ancient but having been in a trading profession all my life I have had little exposure to medicine. I am soon going to retire and have this yawning gap of leisure/ boredom ahead of me. I have opened a clinic tentatively with the help of my nurse. Have had bad luck so far - no cures and some deaths, and have been advised by my nurse to go in for more routine angioplasty. Can anybody simplify the workings of the heart for me ? Is this occupation in my retired life likely to be disastrous for my patients ?? Some opinions are welcome !!!

ideally it should be happening in reverse ;)

high risk at younger age, low risk at older age!

Intraday Options is the riskiest thing on this planet, ask how Big Banks/Ph.Ds lost billions?

My Opinion: Trade only the money you can afford to lose.

Sir,

Maybe you want to reflect upon the number of years you spent studying, before your could earn your Medical degree. What makes you think Trading is any different?.

In the same logic, if you can not be a MD - Neurologist, without first finishing your MBBS, what makes you think you are ready for options trading without first trading successfully in regular day/delivery market?

NOTE: There are better ways to loose boredom. Try giving your time for social welfare activities, write articles, read books, watch movies, hang out with friends/family members, or anything that rocks your boat.
