Hi All,
I have short sell 200 shares of Videcon at 204.1 but the shares were not squared up since the videocon reached the upper circuit limit.Broker called me and told that shares are in auction and will be buyed at price which is higher in t+3 days. Please tell mewhy brokers will allow such kind of shares which which will make for the investors to loss huge amount of money.
Please tell me how to proceed has i could be in loss of huge money as broker is telling SEBI wiil do the auction and will l buyback the shares which is highest of three days for which will be huge loss to the investors.

Please let me know to whom to complaint about this as this is totaly unfair to the investores because stock which was in upper circuit did not get squared off as there were no sellers and the stock did not get sqaured off and broker is telling it will be placed in auction and SEBI will buy the stock with highest of 3 days.\Please let us know whether it is broker is lieing us or what is the rule in case if the short sell stock is carried of next day since it did not squared off due to stock upper circuit

When a stock hits Upper or Lower circuit, it means that the max rise or fall allowed for that stock in intraday session have been reached. This threshold value is defined by a fixed %. Eg: Suppose a stock ABC have a threshold of 5% for its upper & lower circuit. Now CMP of ABC is Rs.100. When it will reach 5% of Rs.100 in an intraday session(either on higher side or lower side i.e. Rs.5), it will be in upper or lower circuit accordingly and the trading will be halted or suspended based on explanation given below:

a) For a 10% incline/decline in price before 2PM, the halt will be for an hour and for the same incline/decline between 2PM and 2:30PM, the halt will be for half an hour and no halt for 10% incline/decline if it occurs after 2:30PM.
b) For a 20% incline/decline, halt in trading will be for two hours if it happens before 1PM, for an hour if it occurs between 1PM and 2PM and if it occurs after 2PM, market will be suspended for the day.
c) In case of a 30% incline/decline, trading will be suspended for the day, whenever the breach may occur.

hello,:(

who has given that call, of shorting videocon.if broker has given then its a trap, if other than broker, then ur order not get filled bcoz of huge buying pressure and its happens sometimes..........

some brokers are tie up with hedge fund managers, and they tell opposite to their desired entry, but most of the cases when stock hits higher circuit the only order that get filled is "sell order" .bcoz of everybody already in buy position,no body wants to sell, that might be the reason.

remember in trading if u follow .....

1)tips provider
2)Tv gurus
3)broker calls.

sooner or later u will loose ur capital.

regards,
jahan.

know the rules before you play the game ! short selling has to be squared off same day.
