:) i am rahul. so nice to see this forum, it makes me feel proud that indian traders are here for eachother to help in any way possible. i am 30 and live in chicago, usa. i have traded mostly futures markets...indexes and fixed income futures. following the forex markets a little bit now as well.

here is my question...does anybody u know how much size is on the bid/offer of the nifty futures active contract? how much size can be traded realistically in this market for an independent intra-day trader?i heard it is liquid. i am indian and live in the united states. but may be moving to india in the near future.

for example on emini s&p futures its usually 1000 contracts available at each of the best 5 bids/offers.
thanks for any info. if you dont know personally and have a friend who can find this out please let me know. i really appreciate it as i dont personally know any traders/brokers in india.

you can get a lot of data on NSE website.

the site is nseindia.com

Nifty futures and option are highly liquid. Whatever volumes are given for index futures and options on NSE website on daily basis are mostly Nifty. Other index trading may be hardly 1% of Nifty trades.

u have more questions send me mail.

I am an active trader in india.
