Hi Saint,
It was nice to see a response from a senior boarder. I wud like to start from the very basic....
1. Can you tell me for a beginner what shud be the criteria for selection of stocks.
2.If i want to download data from BSE for any particular stock and do some fundamental analysis in my excel sheet... is there a way to do download data at a single click as we have option of downloading histotircl data on NSE. Because in BSE one has to click copy paste evry time for a month. So that is pretty cumbersome if one is lukin at a dta of 50 scrips for say 5 years... hat comes to 12months*5years*50scrips times .... is there a easy way out.
3. If i am taking a statistical kind of view then will that be helpful i.e. calculation of Beta,Risk ,Correlation,P-Value kind of stuff.... actually i just want to do some experimenting myself.
4.Wud also like to know which online trading account provides me the best bet.. I want to go with Sharekhan is it worth.Because i have seen their site its very infomative... not the kinds of india bulls or icici direct whaih try to hide most of the things till u have an id.... I have literally no idea what services will they provide and how gud is their research... if they are not even disclosing anything........ to a normal visitor....

Wud like to get insights from fellow members....

you may visit the software section. you will find good ideas to do it, better than excel method you have in mind.

welcome to your view to take a statistical approach, which not many are. but you are not alone. you may think of giving something to the forum also. may be the excel template to do statistical analysis.

you have a section for this too. i suggest to go through the structure of this forum and have a cursory look at it's contents. you may or may not get a decesive advice on brokers, but you will become knowledgeable to take an informed decision.

all the best both in your learning and in trading.
