Hello! My name is krishna.

I am a complete newbie investor (not sure if that is the right word in investment parlance).

My main objective was mutual funds, so i selected ICICIdirect. After reading many posts here I feel I might have done a mistake. It seems their service is not too good. But I truly hope that ICICI is not good for day trading, something that I would not be doing.

I plan to do some short-small size trading and let a feel of the whole world of trading. My interests include programming (mainframes and vb/.NET) , computers, cricket, technology , astronomy and astrology :-)

btw, may I know who is traderji? I did a search but could not find any thing that says who traderji is? Why keep it as a mystery?

Hi and welcome,

In fact Icici is great for mf investing and their star ratings of various funds are of great help in evaluating various funds.

As to the last part of your question methinks you should wait for traderji to respond to it himself.

Well, I forgot to add that ICICIDirect seemed the only online brokage to have mutual funds with equity. Thats why I went for it. I have not received my ID and password and waiting for it for the last 6 days *sigh*. Getting the feel of ICICIDirect!

btw, moneycontrol.com seems to be having very good information about market and economy.

ps:As for the mystery behind Traderji's identity,it really does not matter.We are here to accumulate knowledge,to learn the basic tenets of trading and to share what ever we can in this learning-sharing atmosphere.........So,if we find that his name is Anil,or Wong,or Bill ,what difference would that make?None whatsoever,my friend...........

In another forum on computers I happened to reply to a post and then after a few days realized that it was my 'cubicle-mate' who had made posted :-) Guess what he waited a day for the reply to come to him. So in case Traderji or other Gurus are sitting next to me, I would not need to wait for long for my queries to be answered.

But I guess, that's what internet is all about- anonymous , fun, exciting. I never thought that one day I would start trading... but need to wait for ICICIDirect to give me my userID!! They keep sending SMSes at 2 am leting me know about my yet to be received Demat account - "Dear customer Njoy the wonderful trading oppurtunities using your Demat Account"!!!
