Default Not a hardcore investor

I have been investing in Stock Market from 1971 and real experiece started from IPO of Reliance Indistries.
Have nice experience so far. Have made mistakes, but I cnsider it as part of bigger game.
I have used mainly IPOs and Right Issues route to invest in the market.
Whenever I have ventured into buying from the market based on tips I have suffered [as I do not have time to study and there was no internate in those days].
As my father used to invest in stock market I also did along with him.
Now I am 59 years old and needs to look at my portfolio in a different light, as I need to retire and look for steady income more than appriciation of invested amount.
Let us hope that I do this also with same ingenuity as I could do it in Stock Market.
