Earning a steady income

Hi! this is gburnot

I am new to investment in stocks and mutual fund. I would like create a portfolio consisting of equities and mutual funds that would give me safe and steady return of 12 - 15 % which would be quite satisfactory for me. Anyone to advice on this?
