Nifty Futures

Hi,
I'm new member to this traderji as well as to trading.
I would like to get knowledge about Nifty Futures.
What is it? How many lot, we can buy and sell within the expiry period.
What is the minimum amount we should hold to buy a lot.Could anybody help me by giving this details.

As u have said, you are new to trading, it better u dont start with futures.
Get the basics of equity markets, there are enough articles out there.

But just to gather information about nifty future trading, i asked these details.
