Hi all,

I'm a Delhi-based trader, who's been in and around the financial markets for the last 6-8 years. I am very much an internationalist, with an academic background in Economics. I belong to the band of people who saw the financial crisis coming, but I don't belong to the band of people who have benefited from it financially to the extent that one could have.

My view on investing has been transformed into leaning on technicals a lot more in recent years. I tend to use momentum indicators extensively; though, the process I go through does try to discount future expected News Flow and current market hangs into the positions I take.

I am neither one who follows the crowd, nor an obsessive contrarian. I simply take a viewpoint based on whatever objective material lies in front of me. Asset allocation is a big part of what I focus on; I tend to vary my allocations more than most (to the extent that I was 0% Equity from May 2007!). I didn't take the futures and options positions I should have in '07.

The learning curve for me is all about mastering the short-term. In terms of long-term asset allocations, I am braodly where I want to be. I look forward to some healthy debate and sharing my two cents wherever I think its worthwhile.
