This is Floyd from Mumbai.

I stumbled upon this group when I was surfing the net for indepth information on Technical Analysis. I have read a couple of international authors as well as the latest book published by Mr. Ashwani Gujral on Technical Analysis and Charting.

My investments in the stock markets were channelised mostly through diversified mutual funds.

I have had a couple of good and bad experiences in the secondary markets. I have all throughout been an ardent supporter of Fundamental Analysis.

Personally I have been studying the stock markets and economy over the last couple of years but more so from the fundamental angle.

I have found that investing especially in the short term (i.e. day trading and swing trading) should be done more so on the technical front rather than on fundamentals.

I seriously intend to convert my hobby of studying stocks into a full time profession in the next couple of months/years.

I sincerely look forward to my seniors in this group to kindly suggest me the requisite software which i can purchase/use for conducting indepenent technical analysis on my own and build upon it in the next couple of months/years so as to be able to take up this hobby of mine into a full time profession of a Trader cum Investor (Day Trading as well as Swing Trading).

Kindly let me know the web links of all such softwares that are available and also please recomend the one that will be suitable to me.

Thanking you all in anticipation
Regards
Floyd

It is the way people start learning. You will go long ahead. Wishes for your learning journey :). Have an objective of come out with some system that will be your own.

Trading is horribly expensive hobby :(
Trading as a full-timer is all about being responsible, who can not afford such a hobby.

Cheers!

Re: Hi Friends - Apologies

Dear gsalvadi and other seniors members of the group

Kindly accept my apologies for using the word "Hobby" as i did not intend hurting anyones sentiments.

I seriously intend taking up Trading as a full time profession. "Trading for a Living" as it is said.

I am fully aware of the implications of my above statement and also sincerely appreciate your warnings of the consequences of my decision well in advance.

Being a novice in this field I will be clinging on to you all and the group for advise.

Thanks and Regards
Floyd
