i am a new entrant here. this was suggested to me by 'sagi.thediceman' whom i used to track earlier on money control. i missed his views when he stopped. i am a senior citizen, but believe that grey hair alone is not wisdom enough. first introduction to shares was through ITC ipo in late 60's. for a fv of Rs.10/- the premium was Rs.3/- and in those days it looked huge.
since i worked in Gujarat for a decade i used to park all my savings in equity. i remember i used to sell one century textile share to finance my trip home to AP and back. generally buy in ipo's and forget about them. i was like this till recently. i started buying and and selling only when i had to finance my house in 1991. i started dribbling in derivatives in 2005 and burnt my fingers sufficiently to keep away for a while. shorting was a nightmare and taboo for me.
Hope i have said more than enough for an introduction. thank you for the patience if you have reached upto here. --phr
