Experiences
I started making investment way back in 1969. At that time, I followed the recommendations of my broker, M/s. Place, Siddons and Gough from Calcutta. I found their recommendations to be valuable.
I then came across a book on investments in shares. I suggested averaging the share prices while deciding to buy or sell. This is in total contrast to what is now propagated by most of the analysts. One more tip, the book gave, is to use events which suddenly shake the market. I thus used Congress split, dividend freeze as the events to accumulate more. On both the ocassions, the market dipped by 1/3rd. On the first ocassion, it recovered reasonably fast but on the latter ocassion, it took a few years to recover. But the investments made during these two jerks helped me to make good investments. The position has since changed with "Technical analysis" which I started experimenting about 7-8 years back. The same works.

Welcome to Traderji.com! We all though these pitfalls and pay guru dakshana to the markets. So how has been your experience in the markets with technical analysis? Would appreciate if you could share your thoughts here!
