i am a chartered accountant who was employed with a mnc in south east asia for the past several years. have returned to india recently to set up my own business (getting bitten by the entrepreneurial bug!). invested most of my savings in debt mutual funds with ludicrous returns(horrible timing!) the intention was mainly capital retention as i no longer have the luxury of receiving the monthly salary. another reason for investing in the mfs was the lack of familiarity with the indian equity market after being away for more than a decade.
starting trading in mid-2004 using a not very significant portion of my saving to offset the low returns from the debt funds. have done pretty decently with returns better than the sensex and nifty growth during the same period. happened to see this website while surfing. and i am glad i did. would like to share ideas and thoughts with other like-minded individuals. have been trading with icicidirect and not very happy with the frequent service-interruptions and the annoying "Queued" order status of orders until 10.30 am ! take care. regards, venkpra |

Hello venkpra,
Before jumping into the trading scenerio, I would suggest you to check out www.TradersEdgeIndia.com A great website with excellent trading and investing recommendations. Have been using them since 2001 and have never looked back. |
