Default Advice for a NRI pls

Hi Everybody

I am an NRI on a short trip to my hometown in Andhra pradesh. I heard a lot about online trading and demat account facilities and I wish to be a part of it. I want to spend some time in investing and online trading.

I went through some websites and forums and decided to open a demat account with either ICICI or geojit. But I am completely unaware of what should I do after that? Several questions clog my mind and I am only finding vague answers in websites.

I have a laptop with a high-speed connection and plenty of time to learn and invest. Please give me some advice on basics of online trading...
I wish to do everything online and I don't prefer calling customer service agents ( unless it is a must ).

hi,

I am not sure how much of investing do you understand. Please visit www.sharekhan.com, which provides a complete school for a novice investor like you. If you dont find the school interesting or you are not able to understand it, dont try doing investing on your own. invest in a good mf and sleep well.
