morganstanly growth find

i have buy morganstanly growth fund(msgf) units,in 1995,,later on i fund my units are missing,,,when i contact to morganstanly growth fund,means hdfc mutal fund,,they inform the my unit are demat in 2007..now i want to present status of units ,as i have not sold these unit so far,,,.hdfc mutual fund say,he do not have detail,,please go to nsdl,cdsl,,,since in 2007,i have not given my pan number,,where can i get detail of my demat units
