depends on you bent of mind

if you love to play with numbers, understand balance sheet, can envision future business prospect of industries and companies in particular - THEN INVESTMENT

if you want to sleep peacefully at home and are satisfied with a minuscule return - THEN BANK DEPOSIT

Bank deposits barely fetch 7-8% a year and the returns are taxable. Better to go for PPF or start an SIP in equity funds.

Hi,

Its always a good idea to invest in equities over long term, however one has to be careful at what valuations you are getting in.

Investment in equities in recessionary periods like later 2008 or early 2009 or late 2011 etc would always prove very fruitful.

I think they are totally different. Bank Deposit is a secure way there is no risk at all. And for other option Investment is a chance of being loss. But I like investment rather than bank deposit.

I also agree with you here about investment. Though there is some risk rather the chance of great profit.
