Hi all,
I am currently planning to launch a server model charting program like esignal for Indian markets NSE , MCX and NCDEX initially all data will be stored on a server end and clients just need to run a client end just a single click to get quotes and real time charts for above mentioned exchanges . In order to complete and make a beta launch i need data ( EOD ) for above exchange in following time formats 1 min , 5 min , 15 min , 30 min , 1 hr , 4 hr , daily and weekly and i need eod data of all commodities and all stocks instruments traded to upload on a remote server and i will offer a beta testing demo for those who contribute to this by data or by offering a dedicated host . Good lucks Good trading to all Format of data needed time, open, high, low, close, volume time is YYYY.MM.DD HH.MM also i need a utility that can fetch real time data from ***** finance to a excel sheet real time as well to add stock data ps: pls post opinion about server model charting were one can work in hassles manner and in more professional ways as no data delays , no problem even if we dont run client end and or if our end net failure occurs as data is stored in remote server and reterived real time when client end run any time btw its is a freeware project |

Hello,
If you are looking for paid software or data you can try www.datafetchers.com. I think they upload commodity data everyday free. Since I do not trade commodities i cannot comment on the data purity. Regards Saji |

Dear Saji I am well aware of this simple tools but there is big disadvantages in it i.e you need to be before pc and switch on utility and need to keep pc running for whole mkt hours and its not 100% real time its just few seconds delayed fetch i mean tools u refer but i am in progress to get 100% real time atleast as fast as ODIN quotes updates along whole data is stored in server end so can get on software and just browse charts as we need and this software also posses custom indicators and backtesting and optimization supports along autotrading features |

dear all ,
if any body using amibroker + odin for mcx commodity , we have good news for backfilling , all u need is amibroker + odin platform + datafetchers FFO uttility...first start odin then ami broker , them ffo.....data will start cominginto ami......let me explain step by step....in ami create new database [ file>new database>data source>local database>no of bars >1000>basetime interval [TICK]>....then go to intraday settings...filtering> tick on 24 hrs trading> trading hours> time start 10.00 end 23.55>daily time compresson>exchange time> pre database settings>time shift >0 & allow mixed EOD\intraday data .......settings completed......now start FFO...DATA WILL COME IN AS PER ODIN CODE NO. e.g u will see code 201724 for gold ..cick symbol>onformation u will see in symbol field 201724 .in alias >name it GOLD............ FOR BACK FILLING,,,,GO TO IMPORT WIZARD...PICK FILES...select path where u have saved backup files > next in define fields col 1=MDY ,col 2 = TIME ,col 3= VOLUME , col 4 = CLOSE .. colum 5 ,6,7 >skip...seperator >SPACE ...& TICK ON IN (1) log errors (2)automatically add new symbols ,(3) no quotation data ......next tick on > add current settings to ascll importer defination>in description > 123 formatt>formatt file name>123.formatt......U WILL GET BACK FILL DATA from your desired time sau need data from 10 till 12.30 [same day only]...FOR FURTHER DETAILS CONTACT = data4mcx@*****.co.in [mr shyam].. mob no =Idea .9824835544----Ril. 9328114677.. as i am getting back fill from him...[.find todays data from 10 am to 11.30 am.]..........oops message too long...lets hope this will help everyone from paying huge subcrioption charges to mcx live dataproviders... In this above case i see following discomforts as trader 1. Need to import data for backfill not history data is automatically comes into AB directly 2. FFO from ODIN have symbols limit to fetch number of instruments not all instruments you can fetch at same time 3. Need to chart instrument in ODIN before fetching can be done 4. Need to keep all software running during market hours and need unintreuptted Internet access to keep quality of data good . ODIN + FFO + AB must be running to get data real time even if one app is closed then u can see data gap not good for intraday traders and even crumbersome for scalpers 5. Need .NET 2.0 or higher installed on PC and all latest windows updates ?? else FFO wont work 6. Installation and setting it day to day is not 100% smooth and even its crumbersome for trading professional and i can list many more problem with this kind of simple utility may be good for beginner for EOD and experimentations |

Dear Amarnath,
Please use FetchFromMCX for MCX commodity data, very much fast and totally hasselfree compared to FetchFromODIN and data comes very much closer to ODIN data and infact it is faster than ODIN many times. Regards, DataFetchers |

Although it is fast, I tryed it on 256KBPS Broadband, it depends on MCX website response too.
Truely said, you need to open Ami and FFM for whole day to get data and that's the reason, it is only and only for LIVE intraday traders only. With so much cheap alternative to monthly subscription of data vendors, It costs only Rs. 3000 one time while data vendors charges minimum of Rs. 3000 for one month. Yes, If you are new-bee, learning TA with commodity it is really very good for you or if you are very good experienced, and wants cost cut, it is really for you too as experienced eye will filter that small tick gaps instantly and they do not need to subscribe costly data vendors. True that, no backfill is major drawback as per your views, and that is totally different as this is plugin and not data vendor option. Anyway, it's everybody's own choice and requirements. If you require more robust data, go to datavendors is the only best option they are far more professional and correct, Real Time data. But one should compare cost benifit ratio according to their own need and their own volume of work. If small trader trades only one trade per day or week, their data vendor's cost will never going to recover and it may be possible that he earns for need of data vendor, commissions, brokerages, internet charges and so many such slippage charges. So, let enjoy in this world, everybody has their own requirements and solution too !!!! Thanks for very good information to all, Regards, DataFetchers |
