Dear Raju ,.

I guess sharekhan also uses the same interface as IndiaInfoline.

Coz both of them have been designed by same software company ( as mentioned earlier in this thread,)

One thing can be done ,.. u can try this ttadvace to metastock utility by defining the source folder as sharekhan's data folder .

Try out .. i dont have sharekhan's trading plateform.

All the best ,..

Sunando Da ,..

There r plenty of utilities available for fetching data into MS from PIB ,.. including satya's Ibpower.

Yeah ,.. those utilities r paid. There r few utlities free for amibroker.

But can MLDownloader be used to fetch intraday data from y a h 00 finance??

If anybody knows ,.. plz comment. It could be benificial to all as it stores data both in ASCII and Metastock format from Y @ hoo server.

Regards,..

Hello Darsh

I know & used many of them . I am also interested in Stokist's utility as he seems to be doing pretty fast in devloping this piece.
Satya's IB seems the best amongst all, even stocktools still works fine for me , soumya & many of us.
It would be another salute to a intelligent person like Stokist who is doing a great service for our forum.
Your features & comments are also very valuable for me & many like us in the forum. I hope you & all other persons who are having good knowledge in programming can find a way to get free & steady RT data both in MS & AB .

Regards
Sunando

Stokist
Here are some details about the data file.

1]Does not have header line.
2]Duplicate quotes entries does occur.
3]There is no sequence / sorting...as data gets rewritten when we do synch.
4]File names changes every day.today.. RELIANCE_NSE12849. it was RELIANCE_NSE12848 yesterday.
5]Data is not comma delimited only...it conains a dot.

Following is the data seq.
20080509.095508,2650.05,656
20080509.095529,2650.1,147
20080509.095515,2650.0,382
20080509.095522,2650.0,1913
20080509.095529,2650.1,147

Hope this'll help.

hello Darsh & Sunando,

The problem with PIB is, it writes data to harddisk in installments with the interval of 3 to 5 minutes.(though, the data interval is tick)

here are the details:
http://www.traderji.com/software/144...solutions.html

I myself wrote a macro to fetch data from PIB to AB but use it only as "live backfill" ...if I do not start the machine before 9:55

Darsh,

can you please tell me,
1]Does TTadvance write the ticks to Dat file, live (as it comes in) or its in intervals like PIB.
2]Is it possible to synch the data if you get disconneced for some time from indiaInfoline servers by any reason.

Regards
Omkar

Dear Omkarmago,

You have been talking about this macro for pib2 ami since more than a year.
I dont know why u cant share it with the forum.

I think this would benefit everyone rest it is your a game plan to milk the cow in future as it was with others though most have been not successfull in that too.
It has been my observation that when one dont get sucess in trading then they esp the sware engineers bend towards recovering money by selling such swares to recover lossess.
I dont say that u intend to do it. But just giving my observation.

Take this msg in the right sense

Dear Omkarmango

1. TTAdvance does not write ticks automatically. You can select Show Ticklisting->Save as .csv file, etc., from graph window for manually saving it.
2. TTA saves data only for the symbol for which graph is selected. Backfill is automatic for the day. That is, even if you log in at 10:30, data is there from the beginning (yes, beginning with some qualifications listed below). If you select another symbol for graphing, then updation to this file stops, and, is for the symbol that you have selected.
3. Data is saved to file called TAData<SYMBOL>.dat, without the <>. Symbol for futures is <SCRIP> DD MMM YYYY, options is <SCRIP> DD MMM YYYY XX STRIKE.dat, where XX stands for one of CE/CA/PE/PA as the case maybe.
4. Data is normally available from 9:57 to 3:28 only. It is Time,O,H,L,C,V per record in comma separated format. Time is normally in 1 min interval (even if tick is selected), and, changes to the time interval selected in the graph. But the time intervals do not sync to logical intervals. Means, 5 min data could have records with time stamps of 10:01:xx, 10:06:yy, and so on, and, not necessarily from 10:00:xx etc., Record at 10:01:xx contains data for 5 mins ending at 10:01:59, if you select 5 min interval, and, for 1 min ending at 10:01:59 if you select 1 min interval.
5. The data files are normally not appended, but created fully (overwritten) every time.
Specifically for your question 2, Yes, it is possible to sync the data even if you get disconnected for sometime.
