Dear Stokist
fantastic effort! There are TWO ways of bringing Metastock data into AmiBroker. Method1 (manual): Create a new database as usual. Then click File-->Import Metastock Data and browse to your Metastock Data folder. For autorefresh one may add the following line to the price formula(AFL): RequestTimedRefresh(1) The function causes given indicator window to refresh automatically every second regardless of data source used or connection state. Method2 (automatic): Use Metastock Data Plugin.Create a new database as usual. Follow the procedure as per AmiBroker documentation. In Database Settings choose Metastock Data Plugin,Local Database Storage - Disable, Base Time interval - 1 Minute. Then click Configure and browse to MS data folder and enable Intraday Auto refresh. Method 1 is working for me but not Method 2.(Both should, and in fact second one is more convenient). However in both methods the Tickers/Symbols get imported but are followed by a rectangular symbol viz. BHEL gets imported as BHEL Please shed some light on this. Thanks. |

Soundrex and Stokist:
I tried the first option: "For autorefresh one may add the following line to the price formula(AFL): RequestTimedRefresh(1) The function causes given indicator window to refresh automatically every second regardless of data source used or connection state." I added this to the indicator I am using. Still the chart is not refreshing. Cheers |

hello friends,
I really appreciate the effort and time you people have devoted to this thread as this is an important part of charting which is DATA. Friends, i have a license version of metastock, and viratech yearly subscription which gives me data of all future stock, on hourly basis, and daily. I need to have live RT nifty chart in metastock but i dont have 5 paisa-TT advance s.w but i have Sharekhan Trade Tiger, can u tell me how can i do this using the utility developed by stockist. U may simply switch over to esignal for better data feeds or other option < a little costly > could be metastock quotecentre. for cheaper option , u may find many data vendors in india. If u want to convert TradeTiger's data into metastock , u might need to send him the file which stores data. then he can make a convert utility for it. Regards,.. Darsh |
