Default IPO Refund? EFT or Cheque

Please can somebody tell me whether you can know before applying for IPO whether refund is going to be by EFT or Cheque? With EFT the money is released immeidatley if you are not allotted your full application whereas with cheque the money remains locked for over a month and I am unable to apply for other IPOs
Thanks
