Re: Low budget good quality PC for trading:-

I have build a low budget good quality system for trading for friends here, which will definitely last longer than high priced branded PC.

I have vast experience in S/W & H/W. Below components have perfect match with each other. I hope below system will help some friends here. Please, don't compromise with SMPS & cabinet.

Motherboard: Intel DH77EB [3 Years Warranty] price 6000
With Integrated Graphics Card, Intel HD Graphics, HDMI, DVI, Display Port.
Audio Features Intel High Definition Audio, Optical S/PDIF Ports.

Processor: Intel Pentium Dual-Core G2030
64-bit (3M Cache, 3.00 GHz) [3 Years Warranty] price 3300

RAM: Corsair Value Select DDR3-1600 4GB [10 years warranty] price 2900
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 500 GB [2 Years Replacement warranty] price 3000

SMPS: Corsair CX430 430 Watts [10 years warranty] price 2900

Keyboard: TVS Gold USB Mechanical Black [1 year Warranty] price 1900
Mouse : HP KY619 3 Button wired USB 2.0 Optical [3 Years Warranty] price 300
LG DVD Burner Internal Optical Drive [1 Year Warranty] price 1000
-----------------
TOTAL price 23700 (approx)

----------------
If you are using Amibroker/Meta Stock/Meta Trader 4 GB Ram is more than enough.
If you are using Nest Plus for Charting you need 8 GB Ram, buy two 4 GB Ram (use exactly same RAM at DIMM1 & DIMM 2 BLUE Slot of your Mother Board).

Use Window 7 Ultimate/Enterprise/Professional 64 Bit only.
Note:- This PC also supports Win 8 & Win 8.1 (U need to download latest driver from Intel Website freely). Use 64 bit OS only for better performances. It is must also for above 4GB Ram .

Use above PC with a good quality UPS [like APC] & with LED Monitor from LG, Samsung etc. Use DVI Cable on Full HD 1080p Monitor for better picture clarity.

If you have little higher budget go for Full HD 1080p 22 inch+ LED monitor (good for Chart Reading).
You can go for Intel i3 3220 (Rs 7000) / Core i5 3450 Processor and 1TB/2TB HDD also.

Buy from Reputed Computer Retailer Shops Only.

------------

Best Wishes.
Happy Trading.

i forgot to say in earlier post that G2030 is not haswell. So motherboard will be different

Good parts but i diasgree with few points
1) Corsair SMPS CX430 has 3 year warranty. It is worse than seasonic and is more expensive. Most vendors use worse capacitors in cheaper psus which means it will die sooner with heat. Ex look here.
He does not need the extra wattage. If there is a seasonic Eco 300, even that is enough. Only need to support 50-100W on 12v for cpu.
Edit - CX430 Even has lower amps @12v (28 vs 30 for Seasonic ECO 400). 12v amps is the main criteria for power as cpu, gpu use it. So pick Eco 400 over this.

2) Intel i3 3220 (Rs 7000) / Core i5 3450 - We have haswell now, Core iX 4XXXX. Its better, price difference is not much - sometimes its even cheaper. There is no reason to use 3rd generation for i3/i5

3) Monitor. LED is just backlight, its the panel that matters. Get a good IPS panel monitor Full HD or stay with current one. Its not that expensive. I plan to buy this for 8-9k

Continuation with previous post..

This mother board supports both HDMI & DVI Port to connect with a Monitor/HDTV. So you can easily connect it with your HDMI TV also using HDMI Cable while playing movies.
But for LCD/LED monitor don't use HDMI Cable, use DVI[D(digital)-24 pin] cable for better picture. For connecting with your Home HD TV use HDMI.

This mother board also have support for Home Theater System, 10 (7.1 + 2) Audio Channels. U can use it as Home Theater System with big HD TV also. :thumb:

For Trading and running Charting Software like Ami broker/Meta stock/Meta Trader etc this Intel Pentium Dual-Core G2030 64-bit (3M Cache, 3.00 GHz) is more than enough. It is best choice for low budget good pc. If you are using Nest PLUS for charting make sure your Ram is 8 GB and OS is 64 bit, that's all u need. :)

Monitor:-
Go for LED Backlit LCD Monitor or LED monitor.

If you want smal size monitor around 16-18.5 inch, go for 1366 x 768 pixels resolution Monitor.
For example: Samsung or LG 18.5 inch LCD Monitor both cost around 6000.

Mid size Samsung or LG monitor: 19.5 inch 1600 x 900 pixels cost around 7500.

Big size Samsung or LG monitor 23-24 inch 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution starts from 11,000

All monitors have 3 years warranty.

---------
UPS: APC is most trusted UPS. 600 VA cost around 2500.

Note: If you are using Pure Sine Wave Inverter for power back up, no need to use separate UPS.
If you have frequent power cut in your locality use Pure Sine Wave Inverter (Inverter + Home UPS two-in-one product) instead of a UPS.

I am using 850VA Su-Kam's Sine Wave Inverter/UPS for with Long Tubular 190 AH (from IDEAL with 48month Warranty). Which last longer than required 6:30 hr for my PC with 24 inch LED Monitor & Laptop.
Although here in my locality (in Calcutta) there is no power cut more than 15 min in last 1 yr. :p

If you don't find good 190 AH battery, use Su Kam HPT180 180AH Long Tubular Battery[easily available, 36 month warranty] with 850VA Su-Kam's Sine Wave Inverter/UPS. Just change back switch of Su-Kam's Sine Wave Inverter in Tubular Battery & UPS MODE. This Long Tubular Battery last longer and low maintenance(check water level using indicator quarterly)
Trade peacefully. :thumb:

Best Wishes,
Happy Trading.

As mentioned earlier I am not technically knowledgeable person for electronics.

My system is now ready but due to unavailability in my area I have got a cheap cabinet called umax for 1000 rs which already has 1 smps installed....... with the intention of getting a corsair cx 430 or seasonic eco 400........

Rest of my specs are

Processor - i3 4th generation

Motherboard - gigabyte h81m - s1

Ram - Kingston 4gb +4gb

Hard disk - wd 1tb

UPS - microtech heritage gold 625

Now on Flipkart I read this review and I am confused that whether my desired smps will be compatible with ups?

" These PSUs have Active PFC are of good quality, no doubt, but there is an annoying problem which arises because of the UPS used. I learnt about this after two years of experience.

(what follows may be a bit too technical)
I had a Cooler Master Real power Pro 460W Power supply (bought in 2009 Dec) with Active PFC, and the UPS used was a Numeric 600VA normal UPS which supplies a MODIFIED SINE WAVE (stepped sine) during power outage. Most cheap UPSs give a Stepped sine wave. This may cause the power supply to SHUT-OFF immediately as soon as the mains power goes off, or some annoying humming sound is present. Some users say this may even damage the PSU. You will read this in many website forums (like tomshardware) I experienced this for 2 years and recently my PSU just failed with sparks coming every time you switch it on.

I don't know whether this was a sudden damage due to a power surge (I had no spike guard) or a gradual damage due to the stepped sine wave from the UPS. Has anyone experienced this? Kindly discuss. I am reluctant to buy another PSU with Active PFC, because I am not sure what damaged my PSU.

Some users in tech forums say: the solution is "One must have one of the more expensive UPS models with pure sinewave output." How true is this?"

And how important is the cabinet in a system? I mean it's just a box right? Main thing must be smps...... Right?

I should stress that I couldn't buy most things online due to warranty issues in my area , so the dealer I bought my system from will take care of warranty for me......... Only thing I am buying online is the smps

Regards

i guess the fix is to get a good UPS with 'true sine wave' instead of 'Simulated sinewaves'. I dont really understand this as i didnt do EE stuff well :( and i dont use UPS.
Some links that may help - 1 2 3

Since you already have a cabinet now, use it and see if you face any problems. Better Cabinets may cool you components better but then you are not overclocking and dont have gpu so it is probably not needed.
Some Things to look for in a Cabinet - 1) Build Quality 2) Front ports (USB 3 etc) 3) Fan configuration 4) No of HDs 3.5'' / 2.5'' 5) GPU clearance if needed 6) How easy is it to use and maintain - Toolless / Dust filters / cable management

That said i am not an an expert in these things. i havent even assembled mine yet ( soon ). If your PSU is half decent and since you dont need too much power with cpu only, you may consider keeping it. Just make sure it wont damage your components in the long run and replace it whenever it dies.

You can ask in tech forums to check quality of your Existing power supply (with case) vs Seasonic Eco / SeaSonic S12II(S12II slightly better than ECO but there is no cheap model for your specs) and their compatibility with UPS.

only one thing is very old in the above list (don't know how many generation old ) :)

Dear, moolan,

Here we are discussing about low budget computer around 20K.
If some one is asking for a low budget car around 5 Lakh. You can't discuss with him about Mercedes/Audi/BMW.

SSD is very costly, even a 256 GB SSD cost around 8,000-12,000. We need another backup normal HDD as data recovery is not possible when SSD Crashes. I am also using SSD since 1 year, it not so new technology (for using such bigger fonts to attracting our attention about Faster SSD :) ).

We must answer according to the topic. :thumb:

Price i want to pay is maximum 20k .......... I have screen so that's not needed
