You have to get an inverter for that . It functions like any ups, whatever the battery you use.
All you hae to do is to make sure that the inverter rating matches the battery A/H for charging purposes. 75/80 A/h batteries are the most popular. Last edited by rajsingh; 9th December 2007 at 07:37 PM. |

inverter (which is normally used for domestic purposes) may not be suitable for PC. change over time in inverters is as high as 500 milli seconds, whereas a PC needs changeover time of as low as 3 - 8 ms. so one has to go in for UPS which offers this feature.
again not all UPS/inverters may be suitable for a PC. only the ups which outputs power in sine wave form or its modified form will be suitable for PC (at least this is what my ups supplier told me). better check with PC supplier. |

You can go in for 800 VA APC Lighting UPS with Exide Inva-Queen 120 AmpH battery which is a UPS-cum-Inverter and can be used for inductive as well as non-inductive load, simultaneously. You can connect this directly to your PC as well as domestic lighting (within specified load). The Setup will cost you abt Rs. 5500/- for the Inverter and Rs. 9000/- for the battery. Prices in vary your area.
Nitesh ![]() Edit: This can gv you a decent backup of abt 4 hrs. if you only use one PC with 15" CRT Monitor and more if the monitor is TFT... |

I use SuKam inverter cum UPS to run computer. But you can't add UPS after inverter, it simply fail to startup.
You can replace battery of your UPS with bigger one, provided UPS can charge that battery. Also battery of your UPS must be 12V. Regards. |
