Laptop power on problems

#1
Guys, since yesterday I am facing a problem with my laptop. It just won't power on unless the charger is plugged in and switched on. The battery is continuously 100% and if I switch off the charger, the computer switches off too. If I try to power on without the charger, it doesn't power on.

Asked in Acer community forum too, no solution so far.

It is out of warranty.

When you bought this laptop.
@TP,

Looks like Battery is gone and needs replacement.

My Dell Laptop Battery lasted for 2 1/2 yrs. From then using on AC Power only.

Since I never carry laptop outside, Battery issue has not bothered me.

Cheers
This one is just about one year old.

How do you use AC power only (without battery) ?? Mine won't power on without the battery, only the charger connected.

It seems to be battery issue.
Do one thing.
Take out battery and rub both ends with cloth or paper and replace.
See if it works.
Do not rub with metal or any hard object.

did that. "Power reset" it's called by Acer. Didn't work for me.

I don't think that it is a battery issue at all. If so, the laptop should at least power up without the battery, but it doesn't.

TP,

All batteries have a limited life. After prolonged usage, they need to be replaced, as charging will not work. I just bought a new battery this week from Amazon. My previously replaced battery lasted about 23 months with an average usage of 8+ hours/365 days....

Edit :

This is the 3rd battery replaced.....

Once again, it doesn't seem to be a battery problem. The laptop should power up even without the battery, right ? It doesn't.

It should, but did it power on without battery before? Best bet is to try googling with your model no.
It did power up without the charger plugged in - till yesterday afternoon, when I suddenly noticed that it was off. I thought it had gone in sleep mode, but it was powered off.
