Money

Thought we should discuss something else, when we get bored of discussing trading. There is so much to think about money... in the unconventional sense.

Why do we run after money so much?

Because everybody does that. Yes, but why does everybody run after money? Is this the best alternative to the barter system - at times we have used stuff from gold to sea shells? What are the problem that money is solving, (or creating)?

Now, Switzerland may pay everybody money Link. In other places, like Saudi and Brunei, the king already does that. Even in the so capitalist America under Bush, they gave money as economic stimulus packages. And what about our MGNREGA and FSB? And the different socialist policies of other countries? What is the value of money then?

Fiat currencies is such an obviously stupid idea. Why is the world still stuck up with it? Why not Gold, or Bitcoin? Everybody does not have the same idea about money. Like some communists think that everything including money should be owned by the state. Or Islamic Banking, that thinks you can collect rent on all assets except money. Or some that think that money is evil.

Is money evil?

No.... money is not evil! Money is money - a means of exchange. It is only when you use or acquire this through unethical method that it becomes an evil thought/habit

:) lets all make money... and lots of it!!! Cheers!
Depends... Do we even need money, except because society itself is built around money? How did we live before money (I know it was not very well, but is money the best solution)? How do animals live :)?

Is it ethical to be a billionaire, and own up assets just because your parents were rich? And others starve because somebody else claims assets? How did the rich become rich? Ethically? Aren't all the money rules just made by the rich to suit themselves? I am not expecting an answer right away, but at least we got to think.

PS: I am trying to make money as greedily as I can.

As long as money is definitely and positively adding good value to ones life.

If it is obtained at the expense of a good-life then it is just a sick choice. Look at the politicians or gundas for ex.

The second Richest politician in Maharashtra Vilasrao deshmukh died of a liver failure... Jesus Christ... what a waste of all those resources!

Money by itself is not good or bad. The way it is acquired and spent makes it good or bad. If money is acquired by hard work and honest means and spent considering it is a power which will enable us to do good to others , is good and we should earn plenty of money so that we can help ourselves and others with it.

But running after money is bad. Also acquiring money by cheating/swindling others is bad.A man needs small amount of money for living in peace and happy life and most of us will acquire that much money in our lifetime considering the intelligence, abilities and means God has given us. So earn money which is more that what we need for daily necessities but not so much that it brings worries along with it and live a happy life.

Right said ST Bro! And it is for each individual to determine what is required, what is necessary and what is indulgence. I may think 2,00,000 is required for a month... some may think it is too less, while others view it as indulgence!

Necessity itself is such a subjective word

For some it might be only Rs3000 and for others even Rs3L is not sufficient for a month

I dont know my craving for more money would ever end or not but its something keeps me moving though I wish my needs for money could end and I could renounce this world for self actualization
