An Internet addict is someone who spends more than 6 hours a day online, not doing anything important, for 3 or more months at a time.

I am an internet addict... been this way for the past few years. Off course, i have my excuses. I was in an software job, that needed a lot of internet access. And then, I spent a lot of time reading about trading - my new job.

... but really no excuse for the number of hours spent just browsing... even most of the Software and trading topics browsed were irrelevant.

And addressing this topic by creating a forum is not the best behavior for someone trying to de-addict :p
(So, I may not actually follow this frequently though i have created it )

A few days back, I decided to restrict my internet usage to just trading hours, but yesterday night, i had to access internet for some work, and then I kept on browsing. 2 days back, I created a Twitter account, and now I am hooked. I have not tweeted, but just reading tweets is addictive.

Same here, a very bad level. Reduced now. Learning a new skill/language, spending time with friends, swimming, walking etc reduces the time we spend. Mostly we do spend a lot of time, when we are at home. My friend has been watching movies to stay away from the internet, after the market. I prefer a long walk in the evening, which makes me tired and stay away from the internet in the nights.

Great post...........Internet is silent killer.............If you use more than 6 hours internet you have to check out your cholesterol level after every three month......if you are a day trader your risk will be more..........chances of heart attack...... heavy risk zone.......age is between 48-56.............after 60 ......your risk will be lower......I am the victim.....so I quit day trading.....:thumb::thumb:
