Increase in STT.

Hello Traders,

As we all know a Crap 'Shome Panel' proposed to hike STT and remove STCG Tax. We are already paying a huge STT and it's eating away out profits, and our Govt. is trying to loot us till our last drop of blood.

These proposals of Shome panel will only benefit the FIIs. We have elected such a govt. who gives benefits only to foreigners. If STT is increased then we'll have to pay more for our losses too.

Already there are so many of taxes, STT, SEBI turnover, Stamp duty, Exch turnover, and the sky high service tax of 12.36%. And after paying so much at the end of year if we have a profit we have to pay Income tax. Why so much tax???

One the other side, govt. is trying to increase financial awareness and trying to encourage retail participants. But the question is how do we trade if govt. goes on increasing taxes like this???

Move to higher timeframe. That is the only solution i guess.
Not really. Some form of protest is justified. There are other taxes too. Since last month, my ISP has charged me 8% entertainment tax !! 8% is too much, isn't it, coming on top of 2.4% increase in STT in April.

There will be no end to tax raise to compensate for the losses due to coal, CWG, 2G etc.... unless the smaller guys get up and protest.

Isn't the Shome committee the same fellows who are recommending implementation of GAAR from 2016 instead of now ?? They will let the corporates get away with avoiding taxes..

Why is your ISP charging entertainment tax??

Small guys tried to protest but then the small guys themselves lost interest in the anti corruption protests.

It seems that the government (?state govt?) levied this from August itself. Any members from Gujarat ? Can you check about your internet bills ?
