I had used Investar, ChartAlert(EOD), Amibroker and many free programs.
I liked Amibroker very much and will buy it in some time.
You can check out these softwares

Am a bit surprised. Am using Trade Tiger and find it to be one of the best charting tools available for intraday, daily or weekly chart analysis.

Curious to know if you are using all the features.? Can you clarify what you do not like about it, or what's missing.?

BTW, another good and free charting software is ChartNexus. But it does not have intraday charting (atleast for the free version).

Hi Thanks for replying.

Currently I am learning to understand charts and there are so many limitation with TT(it is just a kind of ready made thing that you can't tweak much).
I am searching for a more controlled software which I can afford in near future and have more control on my analysis.

This might be my personal opinion but I think when you don't have a better choice(Or probably can not afford a better one), then you have to stay with TT but when you will start looking deeper into charting then you will realize that TT just have necessary thing and you can do very less things with it.

Also I want more control over how I look to the data and that's why planning to look into some other affordable options.

And I have downloaded Amibroker, still analyzing and starting to like it.Thanks manojborle.

Thanks,
EC

Sharekhan has the best charting software in my opinion in any trading platform (if anybody knows better, do please post) Moreover it is free.

It has 0,1,3,5,10,15,30,60 minutes chart for intraday. Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly timeframes.

Indicators available are MA, stochastics, Bollinger Bands, ADX, MACD, CCI, Double Average, RSI, ROC, Volume plus etc.

Besides the input values for these indicators are customisable.

BTW, I had bought legal copy of Metastock EOD and spent over Rs. 30,000 for it including data feed for two years (Live version is much more expensive). Having started using Sharekhan, I stopped Metastock.

From personal experiece will suggest only one thing. Keep your techinque simple, and don't complicate chart analysis by using too many indicators or doing too much of fine tuning.

You can trade and make a good amount of money just by looking at price and moving averages on the chart.

Have posted today Rules for profitable intraday/swing trading under Advanced Trading Strategies. Do read it. I hope it will help you.

Good luck and God bless.

Hi Rajiv,

It may seem I am advertising Sharekhan, but it is truly feature rich. Would recommend it to anybody.

Though I mostly use it for charting, there are many other tools than you will find useful.

There is no brokerage commitment, and no, there is no charge. (Dont remember paying). To be honest, even if there was, I would have gladly paid, as using the charting tools will payback much more.

Happy trading.

@ Reggie..I want to open an account with ShareKhan for Tiger Trade as presently I am using ODIN which does not provide intra day charts with backfill for previous days.

Do they charge for use of Tiger Trade or there is some minimum brokerage commitment??

Any other feature or drawback of TT ..You can judge better as you are using it.

Thanks
Rajiv:)

Thanks for the reply.

In fact I like it till some extent but also want to see some improvement in it.
And here are some of question that I want to raise.
1. Does it provide the facility to store the data for offline propositions?
2. Does it provide some very important indicator like DMA, force index?
3. Many time TT will not show candle bars according to the set time frame(especially for lower time frame) and I have observed many instances where it does not form candle rightly.

I thing many software(which develops and improves over the period of time) have 3 important phase in their life spam.

1- A fancy insect version (where everybody like it , it is in initial phase with limited features).
2. Elephant version(lots of feature coming at once and not everything is managed well).
3. cow version(optimized and more productive).

Thanks for your invaluable comments, you guys seems to be more experience in trading and I am just a beginner :)

I have one query regarding Trade Tiger, Does it provide IEOD ?
I mean when you open an intraday chart, Will it include say previous 5 days intraday data for 5 minute chart or last month intraday data for hourly chart ?
